A chiropractic adjustment is the art of administering a highly specific, controlled force in a precise line of correction that is applied to a spinal segment. The purpose of this procedure is to improve the structure and function of the human body.

Though most of our patients experience immediate relief at the onset of care, each individual responds differently, as each patient’s symptomatology is unique to them. Our goal is to improve our patients’ symptoms as soon as possible, but our biggest concern is to ensure their injury is fully healed and they have achieved a full recovery. We formulate the number of visits required for each patient based on evidence-based protocols and established healthcare guidelines to uphold our high standard of clinical excellence.

New patient assessments have a standard length of 45 minutes – 1 hour while subsequent visits are 30 minutes in duration.

Unfurtenely, no.

During your first visit we will obtain your medical history regarding your current needs, perform an examination involving a series of musculoskeletal and functional assessments to pinpoint the root cause of your particular complaint, develop a care plan that meets your needs and perform treatment and therapies pertinent to the findings on the exam. On subsequent visits you can expect treatment, therapies, exercise and lifestyle recommendations that are specific to your needs.

It depends. Upon examination, we can determine the best treatment and therapies for your particular condition. Our team uses a variety of tools and are not limited to one particular technique or therapy. Instead, we choose to utilize our diverse toolkit to best help you reach your particular goal.

Our new patient procedure begins with a complimentary consultation. After your consultation, then you will be scheduled for your new patient appointment which will consist of an examination, review of findings, and treatment.

Dr. Soammy Matias Likely is trained in many different modalities and treatment options. If you are not comfortable with a traditional adjustment, then she can use an adjusting tool to ease your mind but also work to remove any dysfunction that your body might be experiencing.

Chiropractic adjustments are safe, effective, and rarely cause pain or discomfort. This is because adjustments, when delivered correctly, use minimal force and gentle pressure. In fact, most patients feel immediate relief after a single adjustment.

The “crack” or “popping” noises you hear when an adjustment is made are simply pockets of air being released from the joints. This is completely normal and typically occurs on most adjustments. In some cases, a popping sound is not heard, and that’s completely okay, too. Your chiropractor is focused on the true correction being made, not the sound it makes.
